I am fascinated and slightly addicted to your podcast, specifically all discussions about the connections between learning music and neuroplasticity. I have been playing guitar for many years and would definitely like to dig deeper and learn more, particularly as I am 62 now and am interested in keeping my brain fit and healthy for as long as possible. My question is - is the acquiring of motor skills when learning an instrument more or less important than learning music theory or are they equally important in terms of brain fitness?
Hi Josh and Tommy
I am fascinated and slightly addicted to your podcast, specifically all discussions about the connections between learning music and neuroplasticity. I have been playing guitar for many years and would definitely like to dig deeper and learn more, particularly as I am 62 now and am interested in keeping my brain fit and healthy for as long as possible. My question is - is the acquiring of motor skills when learning an instrument more or less important than learning music theory or are they equally important in terms of brain fitness?
Thanks for a great podcast!!
