Great survey! It brought to mind that learning from podcasts like Better Brain Fitness has become the lean meat and veggies of my mental diet. Thank you
Interesting survey. I found myself wanting to make a distinction between reading material. I rarely read novels or magazines and would have rated them lower, and I mostly read non-fiction subjects that interest me so my rating was higher. It's been thought provoking to consider your questions. Also regarding instagram, I rated it somewhat worthwhile, but that is because I look at the people I follow and close it down rather than scrolling random suggestions. If I stayed scrolling I think I would rate it less worthwhile. Same with YouTube.
Great survey - the only thing missing is Reddit, which according to a New Yorker article awhile back is THE most read and interacted with thing in the world. Very easy to spend a lot of time there, mostly regrettable, but sometimes quite informative and entertaining. But just the fact that you're asking these questions has made me rethink my intake of all the sources, so I appreciate that! Very grateful for all the work you do.

Yes and after having done the survey, I look forward to learning what you made of it. I am also grateful for the work you do.
Thanks so much, John. Very grateful for you and your support as well.

That’s interesting. Do you have a link to that article? According to Pew Center data, Reddit is near the bottom, at least in terms of percentage of people who’ve used it (https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/2024/01/31/americans-social-media-use/pi_2024-01-31_social-media-use_00_01-png/).
Glad to hear you found the survey thought provoking - that part of the intent!
And thanks so much for the kind words - very grateful for you and your support!
