I love you guys, but not enough to listen to Perlmutter. Grain Brain got one of the harshest Red Pen reviews I’ve ever seen, which I think says everything that one would need to know.
Thanks for the feedback Danny! That's fair enough. I think we stuck to our typical approach in the episode and tried to make sure that the right nuance was provided, but we'll also be back to our usual content in the coming episodes!
To be fair, I tried to give it a listen and had to stop after a couple minutes when he said the first thing that made my brain hurt so that means I don’t actually know how the interview went. I’m not in any way opposed to basically any health view getting some airtime on podcasts. But I find that most of the podcast hosts who I most respect (yourselves, Peter Attia, Simon Hill, etc.) are often a little reluctant to push back as hard as they probably should. And that can leave audience members who don’t have backgrounds in these topics assuming that the expert being interviewed has more scientific backing for their claims than they actually do. It is something I actually really enjoyed about your appearances on other podcasts when talking about your book, because you are always very careful to flag where the boundaries of evidence lay and where you are getting into more of what might be called informed speculation.
