Thank you! I especially appreciated the Dr. Turknett's rant at the end. I am one of the many who has lost my faith in experts. To add another reason to your already quite accurate list about why people turn to other sources; I wanted my doctors to be able to help me understand what was happening in my body, but there was never enough time. Since that meant that to learn about my own health, I turned to books on subjects which were rarely written by doctors, sometimes scientist, and sometimes just excellent people who did a great job. Some of the books that I read that were written by doctors, like The War on Pain by Scott Fishman, overemphasized the use of pharmaceuticals. Also, doctors seem to become overconfident that they are helping people with pharmaceuticals. ie. See "Wicked Problem" This is the reason that I am a follower of your podcast - because of your thoughful ideas that we should be aware of how complex each one of us is.
